Some people that live in California, when they go to NYC in the summer they can't stand the heat! It's the same temperature but we got humidex which makes it feel like you can't breathe. The summers here are hotter than in the south!

I did a summer in NYC, yes it was hot, but nothing nowhere near as hot as the southern states on a daily basis (all day for that matter). While in some northern cities, the temperature will lower to 80's or 70's, a bish sweats her behind off in 90+ humidity at night. My hair during spring, sumer, and fall go through some things, as any black female will attest to

People dramatically exclaim how hot it is up north; how people are fainting, cramping, fainting, etc. You can't stop mother nature, but when you're accustom to that sort of weather yearly, you know what resources to use and how to handle those situations. Let's see NYC properly handle a San Fran sized earthquake effectively.
Depending on where you are, you have to also factor humidity as well with the heat. I mean, I was chillin' with 110 in Louisiana while watching people act as if the world was ending with their "record heat indexes" during the summer. I mean, I shrugged and knew it had to do with not being use to that sort of heat consistently. Maybe in time they'll get use to it, who knows.
