Beyoncé has been selling more albums than Britney since 2003, 2001 if you count Survivor outselling Britney. And that's on a WW basis. Britney owned 2000-2001 but that's not enough to claim a whole decade when Beyoncé has 2003-2009.

People really underestimate how successful The Fame was just because she's flopping now. If you take the decline in total album sales in account, it was about as successful as Beyonce's first four albums combined

Some Advil and Evanescence album was also more successful than all Beyonce albums but enough about fads.
