I agree. I think that R8, whenever it comes, will have a much more positive feeling and spirit about it. If you look back, all of Rih's albums are very autobiographical. Even if she doesn't pen these songs herself, they're indicative of what's going on in her life at that time.
- *The mixtapes are symbolic of Rihanna's girly beginnings, and although they are cute records they really reflect her label puppet status at the time.
- *Good Girl Gone Bad was symbolic of her breaking free from the label and really coming into her own as an artist. This was the first time she was really able to express herself.
- *Rated R was symbolic of all of the feelings and emotions that she felt surrounding "the incident".
- *Loud was a return to happy Rihanna, breaking free from the sadness and depression of the Rated R era.
- *Talk That Talk was a maturation and exploration of her sexual side. She became a true rebel at this time. I think she knew that she wanted to rekindle things with CB around this time, and was prepping for the backlash.
- *Unapologetic, as the title suggests, was a big **** you to society. She had all of these pent up feelings for CB and decided that she owed it to herself to find closure, regardless of what anyone says or thinks.
I think that R8 will be more uplifting. She's (seemingly) found closure with the CB thing, and has reached an all new level of success and fortune in her career. It'll be interesting to see what she comes up with.
