It was obvious he was going to lose to Macklemore's vanilla offering. His music is way too conceptual and "hood" for the middle of the road voters. Why else was Macklemore the first rap act since Arrested Development (they were way more innovative and interesting; and if you want to count Lauryn Hill) to win BNA? When they can't give Eminem the trophy, they go with the safe white rap act? I'm so tired of the Grammys judging hip hop.

It's a daily chart and Katy has been #1 and Top 5 for a long time, stop trying.

I mean at least Eminem is actually worthy of winning in the rap categories. He does have a couple of safe songs on his recent EPs, but it's still rap and he's respected by the rap and urban communities. Like, it's not the fact that he's white (though that has something to do with it), it's the fact that there were way more deserving efforts, in the rap categories in particular, that deserved to win. I never really expected Kendrick to win. I guess I just had a small glimmer of hope that they would actually get it right so I still low key got upset. As a true rap fan, and Cap10 you know I'm an actual rap fan, it sucks that my favorite genre keeps getting ****ed over when it's among one of the most artistic genres there is. I hate that it has this negative connotation surrounding it. GKMC is a great story telling, conceptual album (the best of it's kind in years) and it sucks that it didn't receive it's dues.

Every damn song he made from '82 to '87 slays me. Perfect five-year run.
AND he played guitar on 'Like a Prayer', so that makes up for 'Love Song' in terms of his work with Madge.
