I wasn't saying they were the same thing. I said making the conversation "Well you can't question it because it's religion" is dangerous and an inherently flawed argument, because we've seen religion used to justify many terrible things very recently.

Well that's where you're misunderstanding me.

My argument is about lacking perspective when it comes to criticizing how individuals choose to express their faith with their clothing. Not about using religion itself as a means to justify oppression.

You being a self-proclaimed religion connoisseur should know that most religious texts are contradictory when it comes to issues (like homosexuality) and that those who use religious texts to oppress obviously aren't well versed in what they claim to worship.

Homophobia, racism, sexism, and every ism in between aren't direct products of the existence of religion itself. They're products of ignorance and hatred. I mean there are such thing as non-homophobic/racist/sexist Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, etc Religion isn't the reason why oppression exists. If it was the world would be in much worse shape than it is, considering most people identify as one thing or another.

Tbh, Katy will probably be still get nominated for Grammys (and losing them) for several years, while Gaga will have a hard time getting nominated for even a Best Music Video Grammy. She ain't a favorite.

I do think Katy gets nominated because she has hit after hit, but Rihanna has only been nominated for Pop Solo/Pop Female once despite having hits. I think there's a bit of soft spot for her.
