I think people forget that Beyoncé is not Madonna, Britney, Katy, or Gaga. She's not worried about how many things or theatrics she can cram into one performance. She's not worried about over the top ridiculous costumes. She's worried about the music first and foremost.

I have come to like Beyoncé because of her performance style. She has her band and a few dancers here and there but the main focus of her performance is always on her and the song being sung. If you want some over the top theatrics, please exit on stage left and find one of the numerous artist who's performances are like that.

Thing is... we got neither great live vocals, nor real choreography. She lipped 2/3 of the song (Yes she did, I could tell from the first second, but I don't know for what reason, so I won't judge) and after the chair routine, there was nothing. Maybe something did go wrong, but she couldn't improvise because she was lipping...

Now I know Bey doesn't really need choreography to slay, but like I said she was lipping most of it and maybe some technical things didn't go right because she was starting to zone out. After Jay-Z came out Beyoncé stopped trying tbh. She probably doesn't feel like she has to compete with him. The energy level kept going down and down and down and down... His verse destroys the flow of the song.

I really loved her live voice at the end though, it was really strong, but it wasn't enough.

Honestly, not only can she do better, but this was just not good. I hope she watches the performance and decides never to lipsync unless she absolutely has to. This is not the Beyoncé I fell in love with in 2006. A world of difference.

Beyoncé is the only one who knows how this performance was suppose to go. And if even if it didn't go as planned, I still really like it. I've watched it like 20 times. I love the opening. The only part I didn't like was towards the end. She didn't mention my watermelon, which is my favorite line.

People that hated her still hate her. People that are not overly judgemental loved it. People who know her performances style thought it was OK. And the bandwagon-ers have found a reason to jump off.

The performance wasn't bad people. It just wasn't up to Beyoncé standards, which is much higher than most artists. WE know what Bey can do, she just didn't meet those standards.

Let you down? Beyonce is human at the end of the day. This was a decent performance and she has never made a horrible performance. Never.

Anyway here are my thoughts on the performance:
It was a sexy, sultry performance, it fitted the song. I honestly enjoyed it but I was hoping for more. The beautiful red/blue lightning gave me Partition teas, and I wanted a medley so mush. (Yeah, I hyped myself), the halftime show mess didn't help.
It was her first performance since her album dropped, so for a first one I was hoping for something more impressive, maybe a surprise guest or an medley.
We all know she can do better, she knows it herself. Like, when she joined the audience she was clearly upset, because she knew it wasn't her best.
The lipsynching thing (at the beginning of the song)annoys me tbh, I know she has nothing to prove, but I didn't find it necessary.
I'm looking forward for her next performance. After this one, I think she'll probably bring something bigger.
To conclude: great performance for the song, but not as good for her standards or a comeback performance.

People are seriously overreacting. The performance was fine. Bey at her "worst" is still better than anyone's best when it comes to performing. And that's a fact.
