I feel Bey's biggest misstep in this performance was that it was a follow-up to her past appearances, which were all arguably career bests for her, and that's something she didn't seem to take heed to. Even if everything had panned out exactly the way she wanted, it would've only made for a marginally better effort.

It would've made for a better closing spot than it did an opener, in any event.

There's nothing to excuse. She stood on that stage and did something different. Everyone was expecting choreo and a sleuth of back up dancers or something like that and she came out and did chairography for 3/4 of the performance.

Granted it wasn't "exciting" but it was a decent enough performance. It's nice that she tried a different approach. All that said, she performed on par with the other girls' efforts. Her worst is equal to their best.

Sitting on a chair and lip syncing isn't decent. The hive has been dragging Britney for lip syncing even though she spends most of the time dancing.
