This is because Grammy's have become about sells and shock value, hence the "Shammy" nick-name they've become associated with. Warrior was more acclaimed than "The Blessed Unrest" by like 10 metacritic points, same with Justin Timberlakes album, etc.
They're rigged and there's so much going on behind the scenes with the nominators / voters, which is why people so frequently accuse Bey's Grammy's of being illegitimate because her father worked with the committee at one point (?)

Why wasn't GRIMES nominated for AOTY or at least best new artist when her album was probably one of the most well received mainstream debuts ever?
