A MV for each song is a great tool, but all the MVs are terrible... seriously they aren't being dragged due to the album's sales otherwise they'd be destroyed.

Beyonce is a GREAT album. It immediately reminded me of how little mainstream pop girls actually challenge song structures and make something out of the box. When I heard Madeon say in interviews that Gaga would test out these seven minute experimental tracks I got so excited because I couldn't wait for her to go to town creatively on a track and prove everyone why she is the most progressive, female mainstream artist, but all we got was an album where track-after-track Gaga just adhered to traditional pop formula.
This was one of the reasons why ARTPOP disappointed me so much because there's no point where she switches up the formula and goes all out like the breakdown finale to Marry The Night or the sporadic structure to Government Hooker, it's all so predictable and restrained.
When you label your album as ambitiously as ARTPOP you expect to hear songs like Partition and Haunted which really challenge mainstream pop formula, but none of that transpires. Gaga's saving grace up until this point is that for the most part she has been a
pop artist, but with this album the artsy shtick became ostensible enough for the gulf between her music and her ideas to be apparent enough. That's one of ARTPOP's heaviest flaws from my pov and what I presume a lot of critic's perceptions.
