Nice set! Although I was disappointed by the MS MR album, I thought it was somewhat bland.

Blood Orange are still on my list, and I once listened to Tennis and liked them but I'm waiting until they release a full album to give them a proper listen.
One of the finest Alternative albums of the year, Vampire Weekend delivered again. Sweet and sounds, verses, choruses, melodies and lyrics. The only reason why it's not higher is because of its replay value, I mean it has replay value but I just listened to other release much more.

Easily one of the freshest acts to debut in 2013. The sister trio put out a terrific album filled with non stop '80s nostalgic bops. Their style is just too cool for school.

The best mixtape that I've listened to in 2013 - I think it's the only one I've listened to actually. Thank goodness I listened to Saint Heron or I wouldn't have gotten a chance to listen to one of the best Alternative R&B records in 2013.

Charli XCX What I Like
Charli kinda said it perfectly: "This **** is super wild / This **** is super cool / This **** is kinda gangsta". Nothing more to say, no song in 2013 has been so c*nt, so bad ass, so grunge. It's a pretty straightforward "sex song" that goes hard. The replay button is raped.
009.
CHVRCHES The Mother We Share
I wasn't as welcoming to "Recover" as I was to "The Mother We Share" for some reason. The sound is so akin to the 1980's pop, the chorus of the song is the high point of the track but everything else is also great stuff. I love the leads voice for starters, I love the vocal chops and echo effects and killer synth lines.
008.
Drake Hold On, We're Going Home (feat. Majid Jordan)
I had mixed reviews with this song once it first premiered, I was over Drake's attempt to sell pop or anything involving him singing on a track or convincing us that he's 'down' and 'hard'. But like he does all the time... he won me over. Drake really rides this instrumental/beat with his struggled vocals. "Hold On" is so relaxing you have, has a smooth 80s soul sound and is one of the best pop-r&b efforts of 2013.
007.
Janelle Monαe Q.U.E.E.N. (feat. Erykah Badu)
It's such a bop; a funky track but it's actually a self/female empowerment song. It still maintains an appeal that is enjoyable to both sexes to vibe to and doesn't scare us men away. But this is not all the song is about, Janelle touches on (her) LGBT and acceptance issues - overall behind that funky baseline there's some great messages in the lyrics. During the songs breakdown she is then joined by the Q.U.E.E.N. of neo-soul Erykah Badu before turning into an MC and spitting a rhyme to close up this amazing track.
006.
Kendrick Lamar Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe
Let's talk about Gaga real quick? I remember Monsters fumed when Gaga got kicked off this track and said it was his lost, he'll never make it or breakthrough... Now it looks like Gaga could use some help from Kendrick nowadays.
But nah, "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" was one of my songs of the summer and songs of his 2012 LP. So many mixture of emotions on this track as it goes from making you feel sentimental to feeling hyphy. It's all due to his ability to go up and down with his varied rhyming patterns. It's a farewell to his old vibe and a celebration to his new vibe and a song about his life, career and his take on the rap game.

HAIM Falling
"Don't Save" me was released in 2012 and it was cute, discovered it as I was counting down my 2012 Best Of. But once I heard "Falling" it increased the initial anticipation I had for them. "The Wire" is cool of course but no other HAIM single gets me moving like this '80s funk-rock groove. It's like '90s r&b meets Fleetwood Mac meets Michael Jackson, I love the fact that they're bringing that feel back to our souls.
004.
Arcade Fire Reflektor
It's easy to take this song out of its context and sort of label it as a love song when it's actually about the differences between two "worlds" and applying it to ones own life. Whatever the subplot you choose it be be, it's still 7 minutes of epicness either way. Don't know what's more fascinating the lyrics, the dark disco beat or the chorus.
003.
Justin Timberlake Mirrors
Yeah, sure the first half of the songs production is very late to some but it's still a great pop track and nostalgic for the fans that have been waiting 84 years for a new JT record. This was also a record that brought back the pop fans that were disappointed with "Suit & Tie"; that was a smart move. The pop ballad is dedicated to JT's late, great grandfather and grandmother's relationship. The transitions is so good, he delivers a killer falsetto lead by a piano section before leading into the urban/R&B section of the song which is a complete bop. You don't even have to worry about the length of the song this time, it's pop perfection.
002.
Ciara Body Party
Queen Ci delivered the best R&B song of the year. When the era was looked down upon and had doubt that "Body Party" would do anything on the charts, I just knew this would be the one - it had urban smash written all over. Everything is just SEX: the intro, the verses, the hook and Future's background vocals are utterly catchy and puts me in the mood. I can't keep my hands off the repeat button, well done.
001.
Disclosure White Noise (feat. AlunaGeorge)
The British duos AlunaGeorge joined Disclosure in an epic dance/electronic record and it's surprisingly my number one of the year. The addictive '90's clubby beat mixed with Aluna's pitched and distinct vocals is just a flawless record. This track really gets me up, I don't even notice how repetitive the lyrics are. I have no problem keeping this on repeat, the reply button will still be raped in 2014 for sure.
What a stunning Top 10. Love them all (don't remember that Charli song though). Surprised with the #1. A great song ofc. If my brother ever made a list like that, I'm sure White Noise would top his list. I got him into it at the beginning of the year and he, just like you, had no problem keeping it on repeat lols.
