I may be alone in this but I'm SO happy 2NE1's going all fantasy kitschy and weird. Pop music isn't anywhere near whimsical enough and I'm basically thrilled. Even if it involves light sabers.

I absolutely LOVED their title tracks but getting into their other songs seemed like too much of a work

I never said you had a problem with SNSD
I was just pointing out the fact that when you are trying so hard to promote "Stop the drama, start the music", not wanting to really compare/drag SNSD/2NE1 (which is a fair point)
HAD to bring out that SNSD doesn't have cohesive themed album when 2NE1's Missing You potentially not fitting the theme of the album.

There are at least 2 dozen of idol groups that goes under the same "non-cohesive" album description too

So comparing Sales / Relevancy / YT views (subscribers too I guess) / Quality of music between the two is considered a drama but that isn't?

And I don't think it's bad SNSD don't have a cohesive themed album. I don't think it takes away from the music. I never listen to one of their albums and feel like I'm listening to a compilation album. Girls & Peace and even Love & Peace flows well. The only SNSD album that's truly a mess is The Boys.
