If that were the case YouTube would've been invented long before 2005. Janet was one of the main inspirations for the biggest video sharing sites. It's a fact. That's called having an impact on popular culture and changing the way in which people received information. What iconic thing has Rihanna done that comes close to that? Secondly, you keep stating all of this irrelevant stuff such as hits and more global. Again, what does that have to do with being iconic? Rihanna has also sold more than Prince, James Brown and Aretha Franklin. Is she more iconic than them? Janet is an icon because of what she brought to the industry artistically. Once again, what artistically, has Rihanna brought to the industry in terms of music and entertainment that is iconic besides singles and Facebook followers? None of you Rihanna stans can answer that. Why is that?
