It's definitely not an overreaction to assume the tweet was homophobic when the majority of the opposition against the LGBTQIA community has based their argument around 'traditional family values'.

This is just an instance of miscommunication. Well that and the fact that Duck Dynasty was involved given recent events involving that one member and their homophobic comments.
