Hmm good point but generally the Oscars are more respected than the Shammys. But then again, when you have people who can't even sing on key (Taylor Swift, Katy Perry etc.) rule the music industry, people will naturally prefer the evening dedicated to the movie industry.

So Madonna would have most likely survived on artistic credibility alone, something which Gaga doesn't have. Lady Gaga will never be looked upon as a "legitimate artist," everyone will always see her as "a singer who wants to be controversial."

No way. The Sex book has no artistic merit, its just as much about shock value as all of Gaga's 2012/2013 stunts. Gaga and Madonna are both as bad as each other except Gaga is actually talented.
