I mean then she wouldn't have the Disney platform to promote her music. They wouldn't even give up air time to play her videos or give her TV spots to promote her music because it's not benefiting them. This reminds me of Ariana in a sense. She isn't singed to NICK/COLUMBIA so they don't even really bother showcasing her music because they aren't benefiting from it. With that being said I'm sure if Nick did YT would be selling a little more.

Yes they gave her a platform but the more I listen to Zendaya (music, interviews, etc.) the more I realize that she won't be able to have the career she wants if Disney keeps holding her back. She's bigger than Disney.

She shouldn't be doing another TV show with them which keeps her trapped for 4 more years

Those are going to be the years some of her best music could come out and now she won't be able to do certain music, videos because Disney will be policing her image since she's older and has more freedom but is still on a Disney show.

HWR might also try to trap her on an extension during those 4 years which will make her trapped to Disney longer than she needs to be.

I could list all the older Disney stars that HWR ruined completely just because they don't fit their image. Demi and Selena are in such a better position because they don't appear on Disney Channel yet still have their contracts. So, it's like they are regular artists on a label. Zendaya won't have that freedom for a long time.

Poor sis Zendaya. I wish she could have a huge hit, so she could buy herself out of Holllywood Records and sign with someone like Island Def Jam, Columbia or even RCA. I just want her to get away from Hollywood Records, I don't care if she's on Disney or something else, I just want her to be under a good label, a label, who would treat her right.

She formed her own label, she isn't signed to HWR or any other major record label, I think it's called Ryan River Studios.

I agee! HWR is a very shady label & has ruined lots of potential careers! They do not know how to promote properly & they are horrible at managing their artists! They can't even handle two artists at once!

I have a few things to say: I LOVE Replay and I love how Disney isn't gonna let it flop, when I saw the discount I was happy because the song is so good but I wish the acoustic version was on iTunes

But anyway I get major Ariana teas from Zendaya, both are on children's networks when their music exceeds that and IMO it's a setback for them both to really do their thing

If Zendaya is gonna be signed to Disney for a few more years (how long does one stay with Hollywood records anyway?) they might as well give her a show similar to Hannah Montana but slightly different (a teen star trying to live a regular life, while juggling school, making music, being a teen, etc) it IMO would be a good look for Disney and it could cross promote the music she makes irl

Except for the fact that she signed a four year album agreement with HWR. HWR isn't owned by Disney by the way. Well, look at Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. People don't mind hearing Heart Attack or Come & Get It on the radio. I'm sure they'd be fine with Replay. Besides her show ended but I think she's auditioning for another role on Disney.

You must not realize how much promo and hype both C&GI and Heart Attack needed to barely scrape the bottom half of the Top 10.

HWR is a bad label period. They don't know how to manage their artists or help easy hits chart high. Zendaya has a bad label and bad (or should I say squeaky clean) rep as a Disney kid going against her. At least Demi and Selena shed their images in their own way by time 18 and had things outside Disney making them more interesting like who they were dating and other rumors. The last of the scandalous Disney bunch, tbh. Zendaya won't have that going for her and that's what makes things all the more harder.

She only has her fashion to help her get some extra press.

Zendaya's album is full of easy hits and watch HWR never be able to get them to even chart in the Top 40.
