So I was just with my best friend, her boyfriend, and their friend and I played ARTPOP for them in the car. Their friend absolutely LOVED Aura and wanted to know who it was by (meanwhile my best friend were bopping to Venus but saying Penis the entire time). I told him and also told him that she was having a bit of a rough time single and a little bit of album wise compared to Katy. His response?
It was something like this: "She doesn't pander to that audience anymore. She does her own thing and doesn't have to worry about sales or the crowds because she's already proven herself. She has a solid fanbase who loves and supports her and is crazy talented." And then I saw him buy Aura on iTunes.
Little Managers are taking this a bit too far in some ways. The respect is still there.
