The Artist is charming, but in the most obvious way possible.

The King's Speech is just meh.

Argo was just kinda like the Adele of the movies that year. It was bound to win.

I agree it's overrated to an extent but it was a really well-crafted work - flawless pacing, witty dialogue, detailed characterization, etc. It wasn't a bad winner even though I was rooting for another movie.

Totally agree about the other two.

She played a stripper who has never been to the UK and had only a remote idea what British accent sounded like, so she had to fake it and it worked because the people she conned had never been outside of the US either. That's exactly why her performance is so strong! She would go in and out of her fake accent. The scene where she reveals her true identity to Cooper's character is absolutely brilliant! She keeps swinging in and out of her fake accent, not sure which role to play. She's crying but also holding herself back. You can see the struggle. I'd give her an Oscar for that scene alone.

Speaking of series, Jesus Christ, AHS kind of became unbearable with the last episode. Their messy, nonsense antics somehow worked in the past but now it just feels like a tired schtick.
