I'm sure she was played way more prior to that when I was in high school she was the THING back In my 9th and 10th grade years, straight guys AND girls would talk fondly about her. Gay clubs played BTW and even Judas () a little but then they stopped playing her for a while after that.

It wasn't until Applause that I started hearing her again.

However I don't think Janet is as adored by Blacks for some reason. I never hear people really mention her or even the Super Bowl incident.
