And I hate the way people say "ugghh being ~politically correct~ ugh" no, it's just called "not being a douchebag." Calling a Christmas tree a holiday tree is an example of questionable "political correctness." Calling an Asian person Asian instead of yellow (etc) is just plain DECENCY.

100% YES
i mean i think the whole "don't say merry christmas! don't say happy easter!" thing is silly, but not making racist remarks is by no means silly or a hassle, it's just being a good person and it's something everyone should practice lol - idk why you wouldn't want to.

we aren't all equal because of the way our history has gone, no western societies (and most other societies nowadays) are built upon equality so they're not just all of a sudden going to be equal
there's more to equality than the law books
and how idealist of you to say if we acted like it, it would happen
unfortunately it doesn't work like that, because we were built on inequality! you ignore race and you revert to whiteness and you diminish the struggles that poc have faced and continue to face
there is no power in ignoring the past or "moving on", but there is power in understanding it and consciously righting its wrongs
