True. Her talent was never what caught on the most.
Did you even pay attention during TF? She pushed her piano/acoustic versions everywhere, and I think that played a big part in convincing people Gaga was worth a listen.
Adele pretty much ruined everyone's plan. Katy survived because she is basic and US radio loves basic. Rihanna and Beyonce both went Adelish with Stay, Diamonds and XO.
Everyone else in pop music pretty much looks like a joke.
I know it's not representative of the whole world, but literally any time I read the comments on a Gaga article it's all "it's a shame she dresses like a such a buffoon because she can actually sing" or from the Golden Globes last night "she is actually kind of pretty when she dresses like a human"
I love Gaga and I love her image, but if she actually wants to be on top again, she just needs to tone it down. People would be here for her being "normal"(er). They know she's talented.
MTE. She's always complimented about her toned down piano performances and people recognize that she has a great voice. I remember reading through Twitter during the AMAs at the end of the performance and a lot of people were praising ha voice
She's also not as "over" as some people here want her to think. Some of you do the absolute most
If she'd just ditch the whole "Gaga" persona and normalize herself the public would be here for her again. Everything is still there for her, it's just the music is bad.
The only people that use Gagz now and are not delusional Monsters are people that are fans of the artists she's worked with like Jeff Koons and Nick Knight. Even then, they only use that part of her work and not the whole, because the whole is a discombobulated mess that not even the most avant-garde could decipher it
I kinda feel bad for Gags. Even if she does tone it down with her image, she's still always going to be compared. If she tries to be sexy, people will be comparing her to Britney. If she does the vintage look, the Xtina and Madonna comparisons will come.
It's really not fair She could literally release a song constructed from samples of birds chirping and frogs croaking, and there would still inevitably be "omg this sounds just like Like a Virgin! "
If she'd just ditch the whole "Gaga" persona and normalize herself the public would be here for her again. Everything is still there for her, it's just the music is bad.
