Shakira releases what she wants and often to critical acclaim (highest Metacritic average of all Pop girls). Her last English lead single was funky disco meets electro pop. And before that it was Pop/Rock with her playing the electric guitar. And before that it was her mixing Andean pipes with a Pink Floyd-esque bass. And in 2010 she created a song where the entire chorus was in a Cameroonian language and she still went ahead and released it as a single.
She's been releasing albums since she was 13 (now 36) with her own music. Do you think she cares that some non-fan is unimpressed?
