I don't get this whole 'Jennifer is overrated' by the same people who always use praise and awards to prove their fave actors are the best. Just CTRL-F'ing her on Rotten Tomatoes' summaries you can see she got plenty of praise by critics for her role, the Golden Globes seemed to agree so why are people still trying her? Just cause she's nearly universally loved? How pressed.
Y'all better pray this woman doesn't die anytime soon, the bandwagon that will occur will put Heath Ledger's to shame.
They stan for critical bombs like Angelina Jolie, so it makes sense.
I think it has more to do with her popularity among the younger generation, tbh.
A lot of them feel like she doesn't deserve the acclaim she's getting because they feel like she's only getting it because of her popularity moreso than on her actual talent.

I know a lot more about the music industry than the film industry (see Nippy's signature for receipts) so someone educate me, has a mildly talented actress won an Oscar and Golden Globes just cause she was really popular?
Jessica Lange: I was in the ladies room and that Jennifer Lawrence approached me and said, “Jessica, I love you. Let’s chat later.” Then off she goes! Flits away like some kind of little bird. I mean, honestly. Chat? With a child? What on earth could we possibly have to chat about?
