Are you telling me we finally have something in common, Duca?
Oh, no. On the contrary, Luder. "Dexter" was equivalent to Anne Hathaway. You were SO COOL and in-the-know if you watched "Dexter." "Oh, you're not watching 'Dexter?' You're really missing out, man!" "Dexter" was the "it-girl" until it wasn't.
Not until the end, did everyone bad mouth "Dexter." Do you think it's a coincidence that every season gained more and more and more and more and more viewers all the way up until the end? It never lost viewership, it always gained viewership, with each of its eight seasons. I know, right? That's what happens when something is overrated, people will bandwagon it in the beginning, and then jump ship when they come to their senses and "turn on it" because it's "no longer cool" to like it. Happens to ALL overrated things. Happened to Lady Gaga. Happened to Anne Hathaway. Happened to "Dexter." And will happen to Jennifer Lawrence and Lorde. I don't make the rules; that's just the way it works, kids.
Emmy Rossum is a multi-talented performer. As an actress, she currently stars in Showtime’s Shameless, and the forthcoming film, Beautiful Creatures. Her new CD, Sentimental Journey, is her second. Its twelve songs, each an American classic, correspond at least loosely to a month of the year.
Like her 2007 album, Inside Out, Sentimental Journey was produced by Stuart Brawley. To capture an authentic early 20th century sound, it was recorded with a live band in just three days, using vintage mics and mastered to tape.
And, it works. You could actually almost mistake this album for one raided from your grandma’s collection of 78s and LPs; the production, arrangements and vocals are all very retro.
Unlike most current performers who cover American standards, Rossum delivers them not in a modern style, but rather much as they were first performed. Rossum brings graceful and nuanced voice to her personal, but still era-authentic interpretations of the songs, renewing them for a fresh listening experience.
Sentimental Journey is an apt title for this album. It’s a celebration of romance, of memory – and of the ever resonant tunes of the American songbook which are beloved and reinterpreted decade after decade. This type of music never goes out of style. Rossum dreamily performs the title track, kicking off an album full of romantic, nostalgic tracks.
Dear Creatives, Romantic, sultry & classic the newly released album #Sentimental Journey of Emmy Rossum, is just that. It is a collection of classic covers that take you through the American Songbook. This is the follow up CD to the debut album Inside Out. Emmy Rossum is an actress & singer-songwriter who received critical acclaim for her performance in Phantom of the Opera 2004 & whose television debut was in 1997 on Law & Order. Emmy Rossum brings her classic renditions to life in the album Sentimental Journey.
Her voice is impeccable sweeping you off your feet. The kind of music you listen to to evoke romance, an air of drama, or take you back to a slower time. The song Apple Blossom Time originates all the way back to the 20′s. You can imagine yourself on the dance floor while listening to songs like; These Foolish Things Remind Me or Sentimental Journey. When listening to some of the tracks something sounded familiar about the song I’m Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover it was used by Merrie Melodies Cartoons it was written in 1927 by Mort Dixon. Emmy Rossum’s album Sentimental Journey is aptly named. The songs are just that, taking you on that sentimental journey through song.
I don't get this whole 'Jennifer is overrated' by the same people who always use praise and awards to prove their fave actors are the best. Just CTRL-F'ing her on Rotten Tomatoes' summaries you can see she got plenty of praise by critics for her role, the Golden Globes seemed to agree so why are people still trying her? Just cause she's nearly universally loved? How pressed.

Russell, following last year's sweet "The Silver Linings Playbook" with a very different tale of reinvention, has made a glittery disco ball of a movie, with Lawrence as its unexpectedly shining star.

Jennifer Lawrence is entirely extraordinary, improving on the performance that won her an Oscar for Russell's last film. Long may this collaboration continue.

Save your admiration for the performances, especially Lawrence, who is now Hollywood's most important presence in front of the camera.

In a dazzling movie about the art of the con, Jennifer Lawrence -- playing a feisty and frustrated New York housewife -- manages to steal all her scenes.

Filled with rich characters and sharp dialogue, the movie turns on questions of friendship and fidelity, both personal and political, with a knockout performance by Jennifer Lawrence as the con man's jealous, ball-busting wife.

An incongruous jumble, American Hustle's supporting cast and Lawrence's stellar turn lingers in the eye, not the movie as a whole. For a film that perhaps attempted to break a mold, it suffers from simply not knowing what it wanted to be.
Y'all better pray this woman doesn't die anytime soon, the bandwagon that will occur will put Heath Ledger's to shame.

Yup. They don't want her to be the actress of the generation but it's not UP to them so b00.
