I actually loved Applause. The chorus and the vocals killed. I frankly didn't understand anyone who dragged the lyrics because I thought they were great.

Obviously some people are too myopic to realise that great pop music is about testing what can be top 10 rather than not rocking the boat, not making a mess and just making what will be top 10.
