I was just driving along, down the street, minding my own business, when out of a parking lot some douche in a massive Ford F350 or something came reversing out onto the street without looking, at around 30-40km/h, and hit the side/back corner of my car
I don't know why I wasn't in bed earlier. I was doing so well with going to sleep early (though it'd usually be passing out and not actually falling asleep on my own,) so I hope I'm not slowly returning to my messy sleep schedule.

I know, I agree completely. It disgusts me. There is never any excuse for beating a child. Ever.
If you use proper methods to deal with your child in the first place, they should never end up doing anything that would warrant a "whooping" (not that anything would, but you get what I mean). Children who are paid sufficient attention listen to their parents and a stern tone is enough. It always was for me.

I think spanking is fine if it is just some swats and the child knows what they did wrong and that was the punishment. But yes, it is just a cowardish way out of parenting to choose to "whoop" your child and beat them
Some of the excuses that they were giving for condoning child abuse, too. No matter how small, if you lay your hand on a child under the guise of discipline, it's child abuse.
What else can you do with 'em?
