I can't really think of many films that have scared me tbh. The modern films that attempt to unnerve you with high budget gore are probably the worst things in the film industry.
Cesare opening his eyes in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari remains far more chilling than anything these ****** prom-****s-get-axed-to-death films could offer.

Paranormal Activity(s) is scary because they hit so close to home. Demonology movies don't scare me much but so many of my friends are terrified of the devil and stuff.
The Strangers is the scariest movie I've seen. I really enjoy it because it's such an acute film in terms of it's directing and acting and relies more of atmosphere than cheap scares.

The Strangers still gives me nightmares and I'm a huge horror movie fan.
