The difference between this era and 21 era is that when 21 started, she was not an international superstar. She was a local girl who sang soulful songs. 21 made her a worldwide force and there are tons of people anticipating the album. Nobody was anticipating 21 after 19 was over. I can see her selling huge amounts in the first week this time just because people actually know who she is now.

Critics gave 21 a 76 cumulative score on Metacritic. While BEYONCÉ has an 86. In your opinion Adele's music is "infinitely better". To those who's opinion matters, it isn't. Even 4 got a 73 for Christ's sake... They both have great music. End of.

The first part of the article kind of rubs me the wrong way but eh... whatever.

The quality of Adele and Beyoncé's individual albums will be the ultimate factor in their lasting success. But in the meantime, they're two exceptional musicians in their artistic prime with the music industry hanging on their every move and note.

Even if her music was better than Bey's for a fact, that logic would still be absurd. Plenty of not so good albums tend to outsell ones of better quality. Also, you just shaded your fave while trying to shade Bey.

I think some people are in for a rude awakening with this next album. I don't care if 21 sold more than MJ and Madonna's discographies combined, that doesn't take away the fact that as of now she is a one-album wonder. I thought everyone on ATRL would've learned after Gaga, but I guess not.

Her next album will sell many copies immediately, yes, but it remains to be seen if she will be a force in the long run, or if her next album will even sell big past the first few months. To equate her with Beyoncé, an established artist with over a decade of hits who is one of pop culture's most prominent figures, is foolish.
