5 POTENTIAL SMASHES 2013
1. Ke$ha - Supernatural
Does this need an explanation? It's trendy, incredible, catchy and massive. Worldwide appeal. Smash.
2. Taylor Swift - 22
As much as this song gets on my nerves it's an undeniable smash. Get ready for it, y'all.
3. Leona Lewis - Glassheart
If this is snubbed I will literally threaten suicide to her label. It has everything it needs. It will smash.
4. Carly Rae Jepsen - Tonight I'm Getting Over You
A much better Call Me Maybe, in my opinion. It'll be nice to hear this on the radio, assuming it'll be a hit.
5. Icona Pop - I Love It
This seems like a cult-status hit to me. It could come out of nowhere still. Just y'all watch.

My predictions for 2013's hits. 2.5 for 5!

nnnn at 22. Unpopular opinion but I wish it was the lead single, it probably would've hit #1 anyway,
Otherwise I like I Love It and Supernatural,

#4, #3, #2, #1
Recap: #200 - #51
Recap: #50 - #13
Quick List: #4, #3, #2, #1
4 Lorde - A World Alone
3 M.I.A. - Lights
2 Ciara - Overdose
1 Sevyn Streeter - It Won't Stop

Lorde
A World Alone
Pure Heroine
This song kinda reminds me of my own life from corner to corner... and as cliche as that might sound. At first, I dismissed some parts as senseless and stupid, like "maybe the internet raised us, or maybe people are jerks" - and then it hit me, it makes TOTAL sense, isn't stupid and try-hard and actually relates to my life more than I was willing to admit. Just this song made me decide I like Lorde. And made me realize how much you can connect to an artist through lyrics. And our age matching certainly helps that s well. The opening guitar strums bring me to bliss. Lorde made an anthem for me and the people I love the most.

Matangi
With uncredited vocalist Rosaly, Maya put out this song on her newest record, Matangi. It's generally looked over and dismissed by most listeners, from what I've seen. From the first second I heard it, I was in love. The smooth R&B-infused thumping beat catches me straight away. Maya talked about it in an interview, about how her brother wrote the hook of the song and sent it to her, and she listened to it a lot while she was touring northern Europe in the dead of winter when everything was dark all the time. Once I was entranced in this while walking around campus and a friend bumped into me, awaking me from some trance. Songs with backstories like so remind me of the beauty of music.

Ciara
The first time I heard this snippet I was in tears and put it on repeat forever? I was actually obsessed and was showing all my friends how f**king good it was? It was pretty irrational actually. I was out of control about this song. It got released and it was like heaven came to Earth, I was delirious and it SLAYED me in half, to put it very softly and in actual language rather than obsessive gibberish. I could dance to this for the rest of my life. Oh, and then #BeEpic made it a single, sent it to the WRONG f**king genre of radio and it flopped, thus ending my Year Of Ciara, as well as her big career revival. This could've been huge. Sigh, next.

Sevyn Streeter
It Won't Stop
Call Me Crazy, But...
The first day this came out was the day I fell in love with it. Sevyn, all alone, on this Diplo-made jam. Perfectly timed in my pique of interest in R&B, this gem came and swept me away... but not right away! It also rightfully earned the title of "grower" for me, starting at a moderate love to overall adoration, and to the stance of full-on stanning for it and even Sevyn (I purchased her EP; actually, pre-ordered). I watched this song grow from nothing, and it smashing Urban / Rhythmic radio and peaking at #30 on the Hot 100 was shocking but so fun to experience. This is my favorite song. Perfect for any waking moment I live: morning before class, walking around, night time, happiness, sadness. Exactly anything I'd ever ask for in a song. And I never would've expected it from this artist, this genre. One of the most glorious surprises of my year... and, arguably better than a generic forgettable Nicki Minaj song

Yay Lights and A World Alone.
Not really into Sevyn. I tried to get into her, but failed. Ya think it will grow on me?
Honestly, TRF.

I guess it's hard to say. I'd recommend "Shattered" or "nEXt", though.
I'm not sure why it clicked with me as well as it did, but Sevyn's music amazes me

Whoa! This top songs countdown is done and I havent not comment here in forever. So many updated so fast gone. You know a big comment awaits you that I like to take my time while Im doing something else. Top 140 I have left off damn. Thanks for the links on your recap (thankful for that too) since I enjoy what you have to say.
Since that I enjoy listening to the album so much that I let the music sink in and never really single out songs for the most of the albums I listened to so I will say this-enjoyed the Drake, Skylar, CHVRCHES & Lorde song in this set. Power Trip, #Beautiful-the two smashes that I love and nice dig on Mariahs album because it never let go. I do like that CiCi/Future-Epic is just a retarded record company period.
Ribs is a Lorde fav for most including me, I forgot if This Moment was one of the catchy songs I like from Prism, Tunnel Vision is such a good feeling song and the video well, I enjoy what I saw anyway. Artpop is a good song from ARTPOP, I did enjoy The Love Club and the EP, Livin It Up is a fine jam, The Recipe keep liking it esp. that its on my iPod/iPhone. I like the video for Final Warming and its really about enjoying the intension in the song for the video anyway. Just like that song for real. Aura is another that I like the most from ARTPOP and Gagas aura is crazy enough. Must pay attention to that Skylar song then for the cheap beer mention and like that Ciara( which I do want one night for her or a day since she is a fun person) and MIA song.
Burn is a jam for sure with the nice dance sound doing favors for Ellies voice. Instant Crush is one I of my fav songs out of RAM, I know that I enjoyed Supernatural from K$ last year, M.I.A. did bring the noize and really enjoy the f**K out of it. I must hear Sky, KT, Sevyn, & Azealias album since I like the songs I hear from there so far and you have said nice things about their song so far.
I have been called a Weirdo before so I guess I must pay attention to that song, Sorry is such a nice song and IDK why this and Got Me Good was scraped from the album and forgotten about. Havent heard X-Tina version of it since I missed The Voices season finale, but Do What U Want is just great and liked the vibe I get from Gaga and R.Kelly.I heard The Strokes many months ago and I only hear it for the music instead of singling anything out. Hangin On is such a good Ellie song that I enjoyed, so much CiCi. I love it.
The Best single and song out of both albums in Mirrors to be honest. I enjoyed the mix of music for Venus and nice work by Paul. Listening to more will be good fro me. I know that I like the CHVRCHES song , disagree about Timber-I was disappointed. Crooked Smile is just great with such nice motivation, G.U.Y is that one song from ARTPOP that I didnt really expected to like, but I did and let the sound get to me so good. Agreed about I live for A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E. I like the M.I.A. song.
Spiritual Love, agreed what you said about the good mix in Gypsy, Backseat Freestyle is a crazed song for sure, like Only Tomorrow-wish I hear this song often tho. I guess I should go back and listen to K$s album, Yung Rapunxel is perplexing due to the sounds that are on-off for, I noticed that Amanda Blanks song A Love Song was #41 last year. Got back to listening to that song and Might Like You Better in 2013, like E.V.O.L.
Well, CMon is a catchy song to mess with and enjoy the hook for little while. A jam that couldve been better, but still alright. Like Money Trees ( a grower, but a good one), Love Somebody ( the better M5 songs), Come Walk With Me (kills), Buzzcut Session (Lily approved!?)& Youre Not The One.
Lost in my Bedroom is such a good song, Problem is one of the Kills I heard and I kinda like it, Sh!t #16-#13 just kills esp. that Glow in the Dark is your fav Sky in this countdown.
Venus is just some kind of wonderful and crazy dance sh!t all wrapped in toxics love, Saturday Night is the other Kills song I heard and is my fav from her and glad this one is the highest one. Well, Body Party proved everyone wrong and some more. Cant get enough of that sexy and embodying song, yeah Swine is trash filler, but hey you had a good time.
Like all those top 4 songs-A World Alone is nice, Lights I know I just like, OD is my jam from her, & It Wont Stop is a good #1 and enjoyed listening to that song.
Overall, I enjoyed your amazing countdown with such eclectic sounds that you can go crazy or just appreciate the sound from it. Fun Best Of you had here. Learned from new music that I want to go check out. Hope that you have time for YTT in 2014 or if not, then hope that you will a Best of this year.
