But the implications of Anne Frank and whether that was her to begin with. So much that could suggest one thing and then lead to the other - the two best episodes of AHS. The directing, writing, and acting were all in its prime.

I agree that the season had some of the best standalone episodes... But it's just a bit frustrating to have time wasted on these if they don't serve the overall plot.

I'm pretty sure she was supposed to have a way bigger role at first and then they cut Shelley down a lot. Kinda pissed about that tbh. Her mutilated legs stay iconic tho.

The Anne Frank storyline kinda did serve the plot because that was when Jude started to doubt Arden's past and hired that Nazi investigator. It was cut a bit early tho, but Arden gave her the lobotomy and she supposedly recovered.

One storyline that genuinely didn't serve the plot at all was the one about that little girl who came to the asylum after she killed her friend, and then Mary Eunice told her to go and kill her whole family and we never heard of her again. That really was pointless.

But what happened to Arden? NOTHING. He was accused of being a Nazi, he was in a photograph standing next to Hitler, he had Nazi memrobilia in his household, and even after attacking a prostitute, nothing happened to him.. ? Why include all off this plot if you don;t plan on executing? (Unless I'm forgetting something..)

Agreed, I wish they had included something like when Mary Eunice died the devil went from her to the little girl and like she comes to the asylum and kills the Moseignor (idk how to write it dd)
