Toxic didn't "kinda flop", lmao. It was a HUGE hit, not just globally but in the US aswell.
NO pop song was making it into the Top 5 except Legend X's "Beautiful" from 2002-2004. Everything was airplay based and the R&B/HipHop/Rap songs had 3-4 formats spinning them. RHY used to be the biggest format, too.

Beyoncé would need her next four or five albums to perform like her current album and Britney to never get another album sale again just to catch up (when including Destiny's Child). She's really not seeing the type of slayage Britney had.

"Toxic" smashed. She broke a radio ban and went #1 on Pop for 4 weeks. Her problem was she couldn't get multi-format play because Sony was busy buying payola for artists like Beyoncé, J. Lo, etc. so her single stalled low due to digital sales being at their weakest point.
