If she'd been allowed to go all-out with "Venus" as the lead, with the freedom she needed, she could have produced a great visual - the song itself isn't even that bad, really, it just has quirky verses. And a weird bridge.
The verses are quirky / weird but the chorus is amazing. I've always wanted to see what the video would look like. I hope Venus is the 'lead' / 3rd single.
She was given 1 week to plan and execute. Plan, shoot, edit. It doesn't matter if she edited it or not (although she was obviously involved), a deadline of 1 week was set for the entire project.

You're taking the 1 week on board as gospel. Anyone in the industry knows that is an absurd schedule if editing is included. So it is either not including editing (which is obviously the case) or the 1 week is an exaggeration.
The bigger question is who gave the 1 week deadline?
