You said Miley was the Pop star of 2013. She was not. That was Justin Timberlake. Sales don't lie. 20/20 experience Part 1 was the biggest selling album of 2013 AND his second album this year also has sold more than Bangerz.
Also Mirrors has sold more than 110,000 more than We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball. And Suit and Tie is only 40,000 less in sales than We Can't Stop.

So Justin had 2 albums that each sold more in 2013 than Bangerz AND his two biggest hits combined sold more than Miley's 2 biggest hits combined in 2013. The sales don't lie. Also Justin got several Grammy nominations for his music in 2013, Miley didn't get any. So Justin got more sales and more critical acclaim.
Yeah, Last Friday Night was both a major hit and somewhat lucky that its remix and discount paid off.
The only definitely minor and lucky #1 hit she had was Part of Me which spent one week in the digital T3, and was the only TD single to not even top the pop radio chart.

Gosh, I remember following Last Friday Night so carefully. That was the reason I found this site! It was a very stressful experience to see if it would hit #1. Imagine if streaming/YouTube had been counted in 2011-- LFN would have been #1 for sure when the video was released!

That is highly possible. PRA and SB were streaming monsters as well, so it's hard to say if it would have overcome the two at the time or not.
Didn't Justin songs come out at the beginning of the year? When did Miley release her songs?
Yes. Justin's songs came out early 2013 and Miley's first 2 singles came out in Summer 2013. 20/20 Experience (1 of 2) sold more in it's opening week than Bangerz has sold to date.
JT's second album came out a few days before Bangerz did and has sold more than Bangerz. to date. I think Bangerz will overtake 2 of 2 in sales over time, but currently it is behind it. I expect both to go Platinum in the US but 2 Plat is too far.
We Can't Stop outsold Suit & Tie
Wrecking Ball will outsell Mirrors
and with like a 3rd of the airplay the the latter 2 got + less time. Justin has it album wise, but you're in a losing argument singles wise. knock it off.

It's called Unorthodox Jukebox

40 Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark
Is this close to 3X Platinum? Not this killing all the singles in this era
It did WW by a large margin and everyone knows it. And it's still selling and going strong in every market. Bruno got two big hits and a normal one, he did minimal promotion and had no radio deal, not even for the first single. I'm a JT stan but to deny that Bruno was bigger than Timberlake in 2013 is ridiculous.
