I know I've been all "bring on Rick Rubin!"

, but I was looking up his past credits and seeing if he did any songwriting (since Gaga says they had a session planned), and I came across some complaints about him, mostly from
pressed rock/metal fans. That Slipnot guy REALLY seems to
dislike him. Some choice quotes:
Quote:
Now, there are some people who would love for me to just be [politically correct] and toe the party line, which is, basically, [to say] 'You know, working with Rick Rubin was a very enriching experience. He is truly a great mind. . .' Let me give you the ****ing truth of it. Rick Rubin showed up for 45 minutes a week. Yeah. Rick Rubin would then, during that 45 minutes, lay on a couch, have a mic brought in next to his face so he wouldn't have to ****ing move.

Quote:
The Rick Rubin of today is a thin, thin, thin shadow of the Rick Rubin that he was. He is overrated, he is overpaid, and I will never work with him again as long as I ****ing live."

It seems Muse
doesn't care for him either.
Anyway, the consensus seems to be that Rick Rubin pretty much does nothing but lay there and run up a production bill while the artist or band basically produces their own work. I am disappoint at this revelation
Back to RedOne/Cherry Boom Boom/Garibay it is. I'd be interested in seeing her work with Stuart Price tho, I'm sure he could squeeze some good material out of her somehow.
