Music would've sounded the same, but with less RedOne. Gaga's impact is namely on performing. She ushered in theatrical performances after artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc. had more rock/laidback vibes to their performances.

She's the reason why pop artists in general have been spending more and more time to their image these days, fashion-wise.
It was def. already there, with Bowie in well almost every era he has done.
In the 80's with Grace Jones and in the 90's with Madonna and Marilyn Manson etc. but in the 2000's, like a couple years before Gaga everything got a bit boring, it was all the same tbh...

She def. made everybody put in more effort.
But Rihanna helped that as well although I do believe that Gaga made her work harder on her image as well.
