Except of course that one of the reasons blacks have the lowest GDP is racism - using a data point as an argument without bothering to explain it is not a particularly good policy - its bound to get you into trouble.

I agree that the US does a terrible job of serving poor people of all races and creeds. This of course is a separate question from the past and present of racism in the US. There is a reason that the definition of "white" has expanded over time in the US (to include the Irish, southern Europeans, Jews, and other groups that were once discriminated against heavily when they arrived) - the reason is that for these groups it mean moving up - after all, at least they weren't Black...
