Even if Rihanna didn't, she'd be fine. "The Monster" is huge right now and is sitting at #1 right now, with its only threat at the moment being "Timber". And she's got the Shakira collaboration coming out. But she's probably still releasing this year. She probably just can't say anything, or the album has been delayed or something like that. I'm still expecting something from Rihanna this year, though.

I don't need any WPs for this, but in all honesty, we know Rhianna isn't an album artist. It took her a while to get that #1, and I just don't believe she can go for a long period without releasing music if she thinks she can remain on top. Of course she is really popular, and she is a really big artist, but unless she pulls something really major (see Beyonce) or she keeps getting those hit features, she will not be as relevant as a constant pop girl and will fade in my opinion. Hence the reason she has a lot of albums out now in the amount of years she has been out.

To be a pop star you don't need music to be relevant. Rihanna has Instagram she posts a photo and the next morning it's all over the news . She also has endorsements and she has a movie her fashion line a tv show and perfume. Rihanna is fine without releasing.
