I agree. I just think Beyoncé did 2008 R&B/Pop better than she did with Fantasy Ride.

The crunk was her biggest selling point. After she tried to do R&B/Pop, her career died. I might sound stupid for saying this, but LSM was a big hit because of JT. Her sound, which was everything Ciara was 'trying' to go for, was Beyonce. US took Bey instead and the rest of the world had already forgot about the song amongst IIWAB and SL craze. Bey had to have had a hand in ending her career. She just did Pop/R&B better than any other girl, and she was so much more marketable.

Amerie came out a year before Beyonce dropped her album. I think she tried to compete with Beyonce with "1 Thing" (which was awesome, btw.). Even Ashanti tried to one up Beyonce with "Only U" (which was awesome, btw). Beyonce has been the girl to beat every since. None of them really found their niche, and that's why they're struggling to release albums.

Rihanna is the only girl she couldnt snatch because Rihanna is and never was an R&B girl-she was reggae. Rihanna's foundation eventually became pop. She's much poppier than Beyonce which is why she has more hits tha anyone and can't be stopped. I'd even say it's possible Rihanna's singles catalog is stronger than Britney's

Oh yes there was a dispute in a thread sayin Bey jacked Amerie's style just because she worked with Rich Harrison first Bey+Rich created something on a whole other level, and I know Amerie was hurting when CIL came out Only U still knocks as well though
