Music Box, the actual song, is really good too. Is Charmbracelet under-appreciated as well? Subtle Invitation is one of my fav songs of hers ever and then Lullaby has that The Roof reference at the end. The One, My Saving Grace, and Yours are all amazing too.

Yes it gets so much undeserved hate,but I personally think its Mariah's most personal album.Also people don't like her breathy filled vocals(which is understandable,because sometimes its hard to understand her) but her falsetto is so smooth on my ears. I love it

A lot of great gems on their,and lyrically is beats most of her 2000's work (sans TEOM)
I sing,and would say Charm is one of her most technical as far as vocals,because her transitions are crazy fast. I would say most of her post 90's work IS more difficult vocally ,compared to her 90's work.

I think it's her most personal too. I think they were pushing her to go that route after Glitter so she could have a "I made it through" type moment. She looks really pretty and kinda sad in the booklet for it too. I remember thinking that when I got it years ago.

And yeah, all her songs are difficult to sing, but the later ones especially so because of the technical aspects. Her voice being the way it is, you know she has to compensate and sing around it and sometimes she ends up singing more proficiently because of it. Her whisper vocals do tend to grate after a while. It was really bad on Charmbracelet because almost every song had it, but it never stopped me from enjoying the album.

I think Obsessed is awesome,and it was the perfect lead single and a top 10 hit,but the thing is sonically,it doesn't fit with the rest of the album. It's so out of place production wise.

That's another problem with Memoirs,it's like Music Box. It's very slow,mellow and understated as far as the production and the pace of the album goes. You have to be in the mood to listen to it. Not nearly enough mid or up-tempos. nothing but ballads and slow jams laced with synths.

Also I find the Dreams production to be one dimensional sometimes. I don't mind if he has one song on her new album though.

Im glad Mimi is ballsy though, there are a lot of rappers who wont even step to that clown,so when Mimi did it(a pop Princess) it made it even more hilarious how she went hard on him. of course he shot back with a little diss he put on the internet(didn't get much attention tho),meanwhile hers was a hit.

E=mc2 is good but most of the songs were trying to recapture WBT and Memoirs, when I first heard it, sounded like one giant song. It took a long time to get into for me.
