That's because Uncle flopped so they moved to single three more quickly than they would have otherwise. Roar can still be found in the top 10 nearly five months after its release, so it's selling at it's own pace regardless of the other singles. Honestly, Uncle could have waited another two weeks to be released

DH should be able to hold the fort until the end of February with a new single out a couple weeks after

i'm so impressed with katy. she released a very quality album that is still charting well, an immensely successful lead single, and DH seems to be coming to slay too. she'll never be as successful as she was with TD, but the quality improved. that's saying something. i bet her fourth record will be even better

GHOST is my favorite song! Love Me was a slow grower, but i think it sums up the entire album's theme/message in just that one line--"i found i had to love myself the way i wanted you to love me." beautiful.

which songs do you think are about Russell? Roar, Ghost, Love Me, By The Grace Of God, It Takes Two (maybe), and Choose Your Battles, imo.

all the rest are about John (with the exception of TIHWD and IS, of course).

Nah, Only BTGOG and Ghost are about Russell. Katy's moved on. The rest are about John and their on and off relationship. I'm 95 percent sure of that. And my bet is that Roar wasn't targeted specifically toward Russell, though that mightn't been part of it.
