Unconditionally is worse than Roar. People just believe it's serious music or some nonsense. The fact of the matter is that Roar succeeds at what it's trying to be: a stupidly catchy hit. Unconditionally fails at all levels.

Average tour grosses are overrated. Average profits would be ideal, but we don't have access to that information. In other words, it's lame to discount someone who can do 100 shows in the US or Australia at $1-1.5M per night in favor of someone who averages 1.5-2M/night with fewer dates in those markets. It's generally expensive as hell to move from date to date internationally and cheap to do it intra-nationally.

Now, if you're a U2 doing $7M per night regardless of location, then obviously you're above this discussion anyway.

I agree. Unconditionally is one of my fave songs of the year, with Roar I only enjoy the chorus but I'm tired of it since radio plays it every hour.

Ps: Blurred Lines still sounds FRESH.
