She is a primary breadwinner in her relationship. One of the most basic tenants of the patriarchy is the passing of wealth and power exclusively through men, and forcing women into only the role of childbearing.

Put 2 and 2 together, it shouldn't be that difficult if you're as educated on feminism as you claim to be.
