People are so obsessed with ______ being the next ________. It's just an idea people perpetuate for whatever reason. I understand people drawing inspiration from artists of the past means some of the themes, sounds and imagery in their work might intertwine, but that doesn't mean they are only here to repeat what that past artist did.
Sometimes people make it harder than it should for an artist to pave their own lane for the next generations by limiting who they are and putting them in a box as "the next _____".
This is true, it sucks to be a clone. Thank goodness some of these artists have grown into their own identity.
I'd even pay to change it but I we don't have any kind of creadit cards in my country.
