It is hard to evaluate the music on its own merits though, because Gaga has so forcefully made her image and persona part of the package. But I just don't think ARTPOP is a very strong bunch of songs from a commercial point of view, or even from an artistic point of view.

its true, there arent any real hits on artpop and her ever diminishing fan base makes it hard to be successful just because ala born this way era (which looking back, didnt have many hits either. Born this way, edge of glory. what else couldve been a hit??
