The supposed point of singles is to help promote and sell the album. That doesn't happen in pop music any more. Miley had two of the biggest singles of the year and Bey has already outsold her.

This is a BUSINESS. The charts are a nice little aside for forum stanning, but trying to create this fiction that Bey's situation right now is bad is ridiculous. Do the math.

Right. Plus she's cementing her legacy and filling in the things that were lacking: an extremely acclaimed HIT album that is appreciated as a cohesive set. She was the dominating female radio act of an entire decade. The hits part of her legacy have been fulfilled -- anything in addition is just sprinkles on top of the icing on the cake. Not saying that she doesn't want any hits; that just wasn't top priority with the way she did this release.

And she sold million albums in one country in TEN days. A lot of the people that would be contributing to the front loaded end of the released singles have already purchased, so of course they won't be doing a 200-400k debut week. A MILLION have already been moved with the album. After that, they're going to need time to build and reach a broader audience. With the airplay (which is going very well) that will likely happen.

People are doing the most over the singles and reaching hard AF to try and discredit.

She strikes me as the type to tour throughout the era to ~connect with fans.
