You're right, it really doesn't matter whether the singles are top 10 or top 1000 right now, but they still should be selling because it shows how much more of the GP hasn't bought the album but is still interested in buying it in the future.

More interest in singles = more potential album buyers. I remember when ARTPOP dropped and there was only one album track in the top 100. The album sold okay in the first week and then what happened? The same could happen to Bey if the album hype wears off but she has no single success.

5,000,000 x 1.29 + 642,000 x 9.99 =12,863,580 over the course of 8 months

15.99 x 1,000,000 = 15,990,000 over the course of 10 days.

Beyonce's album sales versus Gaga and Miley's kind of proves "More single success = more album buyers" wrong.

Most people will buy the single and not the album.

If she has amazing single performance, lackluster, or otherwise, I don't think she is sweating over it. She knew what she was getting into when she released the full album all at once with no single.

I know her focus is not hits.
But hits are important to sustain the era once hype dies and the sales stall.
