But do you understand why doing something unique (releasing an album with no singles before hand) is more beneficial to Beyonce's legacy than doing something typical (getting another top 10 single?)

I mean she wins both ways if she gets the top 10 single within a few months, which she most likely will.

No one is saying we'd be unhappy if she got another hit. It's just not necessary. This era is already historical/iconic/a "legacy" moment for her in a way that a top 10 single could never be.

If she went the conventional route and got a top 10 single before album release, this era would contribute less to her legacy, not more.

I never said she was above that, it would be great BUT why would I want to trade a huge album for a top 10 single?

She is fully capable of top ten hits anyway, there are top tens on her current album so the point is moot, really.

May not be necessary but its definitely helpful in the long run. It would still be nice for Beyoncé to achieve top 10s post release. Should be fairly manageable for a pop artist of her calibre.

Eventually Beyoncé (the album and the artist) will begin to suffer without hit songs.
