Also Rihanna is a global superstar, Mariah is a local has been. She surely surpasses Rihanna in the US, but since she's always been a non factor outside of there, the answer is pretty obvious.
Rihanna's discography? She's a singles artist. Most of her albums are awful and generic. Rihanna makes dance music and sells sex much better than Mariah so of course she would be more "global" even though no one takes her seriously as a artist.
