It's a nickname only if you make their name one word. Fadga=nickname. Legend M for Madonna wouldn't be, for example.

Alright I'm home and I'm willing to talk reasoning here. It seems like there's a lot that you all need to have discussed that hasn't been covered in other threads, so please start laying out your concerns now and I'll do everything I can to explain our reasoning for these things. This is not a negotiation of any sorts and I will not be so bold as to take all your complaints and criticisms to the other moderators and reason for a change, but I will do my best to explain the rules and policies we have and why the majority or entirety of our team supports them.

I also want to comment on how y'all seem to really hate certain moderators and none of them deserve it. I've seen too much criticism of Lee!!, Lipton, and Ace (some of it in jest, I realize) and I can tell you from being on the team for a few months now: it's pretty universally unwarranted.

We're not, it's the forum that is. I hate Justin - that much I can be honest about. But I will always warn anything that is flamebait or trolling that involves him because we need to be even in our moderating. HOWEVER: It's very common for flamebait posts against him to go unreported, and we simply can't cover every thread like some sort of pack of patrol dogs. We count on the members to report smaller rule violations.

In addition, what constitutes flamebait or trolling is a little bit subjective; if anything is middle-of-the-line or in some grey area, there are moderators who will not warn it and there are those who will. I'm on the strict side and I believe I warn more often for things others may not always warn for, but that doesn't make me right at all. We simply have to acknowledge that there are grey areas and mods treat them differently, there's no real right or wrong way to deal with it.
