Wow I thought Madonna was a super talented hands on raw artist but I see that wikipedia says Kravitz wrote and produced the best song on Erotica with Madonna, and I quote "adding a few lines."
This always surprised me too. Especially when the Obama's aligned themselves with Bey saying they let their daughters listen to her. d. Video Phone, Baby Boy, Check On It, WDYLM, Naughty Girl, and all her other sexy songs have done nothing to scrutinize her image. I mean just the other day, the Rih stans couldn't remember that Bey was doing the "sexy lil' thug" image before Rihanna had a career.
Her virginal image is just too powerful...
She doesn't even really portray a virginal image, IMO -- that's something people that don't pay enough attention project onto her. She's always used sex.
I feel like her pristine image is due to her understanding of appropriate time and place and compartmentalizing meticulously, keeping her personal business private and selling sex/ratchetness in measured doses so it's never "too much." She maintains a good balance of things that appeal to different demographics this way and can float seamlessly between the sophisticated and conservative and sexy/hood/edgy without issue.
nnn I think she did sell 10 million albums already, with OOTB, TD &Prism.
LOL whatever. She, like all her peers, will never reach Britney's numbers. She could add Beyoncé and Destiny's Child to her total and she'd still need Gaga and Christina to reach Britney. I don't know why that person tried.

So I was looking for a TV show to get into during my winter recess and my friend told me I should get into Dexter. Is it a good show? Worth the effort? I'd be 8 seasons behind.

A Katy Perry tea.
Madonna's biggest talent always was knowing who to work with. Same with Britney.

This is why Beyonce is practically a legend now, and Britney is nothing more than a has-been with a glorified career, Miley is nothing more than a passing fad and Rihanna is just there.

Watch only the first 4 seasons.
But if you must continue on, JUST DO NOT WATCH SEASON 8! It will void 84 episodes worth of your time!
Many people have said this here. Males are behind a lot of these women's hits, whether people choose to acknowledge it or not.
But I feel like nowadays, women have a better presentation of their creativity. Their visual displays are always more entertaining. They're constantly bringing it and pushing the envelope. I'm a Prince stan so it's disappointing to see no mainstream male artist going the eccentric and colorful route like the pop girls.
For as much progress as we've made with gay rights, I feel like males have become more wary of displaying any hint of creativity that could be construed as femininity. Where's our generations David Bowie, Prince, KISS, etc...?
