The 800,000 who already bought the album can't buy the songs individually and yet they're still charting well on iTunes.
Beyonce and her team are so smart, they knew they had to choose between a smash single or a smash album and they chose the better option. I mean the single dropping out of nowhere would have probably guaranteed her a #1 debut but then what good does that do? Selling a million albums in 5 days is WAY better in the long run.
UNANIMOUS got piss poor reviews because it's a piss poor album. She might as well have let Chris skeet all over her and included the video as a part of the album packaging.
She's still trying to convince people of the "personal album that I wrote myself" bs even now that Britney Jean is below The Truth About Love on iTunes and it's obvious no one believes her or cares

I'm sure DefJam have cut their budget to their Rihanna 1.X line. She's been getting more and more basic every month. Rather than waste money on another struggle to platinum alberm, they throw her on collabs of more successful artists to get some royalties.
You can't honestly tell me Dangerously In Love and I am... Sasha Fierce were good bodies of work
DIL was. IASF was a mess.
Rih only has 1 cohesive album- RR. The rest follow the same formula: like 2 urban club jams, the pop ballads, the dance-pop songs, and the 1 West Indian track. No cohesion. Same thing each year. You can tell not much time or thought was put into it
Bae's albums at least have a consistent theme musically.
